John Spence

Although not what you call an obsessive fisherman, John loves to fish whenever the opportunity presents itself. In his extensive travels in Africa he has experienced many of the weird and wonderful aspects of fishing there from tigerfish to shark. He is also immensely experienced in those lodges that can combine fishing and safaris, and draws on an immense bank of personal experience in this field. He originally cut his teeth as a cocktail barman in Cape Town and white water raft guide in Zimbabwe. Endless weird and wonderful trips to Africa on horse back, by canoe, on foot, light aeroplane and behind the wheel of his own Land Rover have yet to fully satisfy his thirst for knowledge of Africa.
