Costa Del Mar 580's

As well as being manager of Grangers Fishing Tackle in London, I teach fly fishing here in the UK and host groups of fly fishers to various saltwater flats fishing destinations. When I fish, wherever that may be, I like to use good equipment, so I consider good sunglasses an essential part of my kit for eye protection, reducing glare and being able to spot fish.

Having field tested countless brands of polarised sunglasses on the market I have found Costa Del Mar glasses to be the best in my opinion. There are number of reasons for this, and it is not just centred on their cutting edge lenses. There are enough frame shapes, colours, sizes and styles to offer comfort and suite every individuals choice and needs. The array of lens options cover every type of general outdoor and fishing situation we can encounter, and their after sale service and warranty is excellent. They also offer a prescription lenses service called the RX program for those that need prescription sunglasses to also benefit.

Without doubt, the most impressive thing for me that Costa Del Mar has achieved is the 580 lens. In copper, the 580 stands head above the competition for colour definition and seems to give everything we look at, a distinct outline. With the clarity gained from their 580 glass lens it helps me to spot and to catch fish.

Recently, my Costa 580s helped me see a Permit inhale my fly during a trip to Jardines de la Reina in Cuba . These opportunities don’t come along too often and I was glad I had the best lenses to do the job… as well as a great guide of course, thanks Bemba!

When we are considering the best sunglasses at a top price, my non fishing friends may laugh. But after comparing to their designer brand names, I know my sunglasses are easily as cool as theirs, and when it comes to performance when needed, I’m way ahead of them. I know that the guys at Aardvark McLeod agree with me as they all wear them too.
