Alphonse fishing report 9th – 16th November 2019

A strong southeasterly wind made conditions on St Franciois Atoll challenging for the week. Despite this, the anglers put in maximum effort braving the weather to be rewarded with some great fishing. The tides shifted from springs to neaps which allowed equal opportunity to explore the atoll by both foot and skiff.

At the start of the week bonefish and permit were seen in great numbers resultinf in many of the anglers racking up 20 plus bones. A total of 320 bonefish were landed over the week. Two big trophy fish over 60 cm  were landed by Christopher Wright and David Kirkwood.

Bill Reid had a super week landing multiple flats species, including a stunning permit, moustache triggerfish and a handful of bonefish. Also catching the holy grail was Tim Dyer who landed a permit on day three. Day two proved to be best for Charles Cooke-Hurle, who after plenty of hard work and several near misses  banked a nice moustache triggerfish.

Total Catch Stats For 8 Anglers For The Week
