We have a last minute date available on a private stretch of the River Kennet this September. This is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy a family outing, a celebration with friends or a corporate day out within easy reach of London.

The Kennet is one of England’s most celebrated chalkstreams, rising in the Marlborough Downs before flowing eastwards through some of the most beautiful countryside in Wiltshire and Berkshire. Its clear, intimate waters are home to wild brown trout, with the river’s steady flows and rich aquatic life providing ideal conditions for dry-fly fishing.

September brings its own rewards. With cooler temperatures and shorter days, the river can feel wonderfully alive. Late-season mayfly activity can still provide opportunities, while smaller olives, caddis and terrestrials become increasingly important as the season progresses. On the right day, trout can be looking up throughout the day, making for the kind of fishing that rewards observation, accurate presentation and a stealthy approach.

The fishing is available on an exclusive-use basis for up to six anglers, giving your group the entire private beat for the day. A guide is included, providing local knowledge and helping you get the most from the water and the conditions on the day, and more guides can be added if required.
