With remarkably low fishing pressure and untouched ecosystems, Greenland provides an experience that feels properly remote, where every river and valley offers a sense of exploration.
The country’s short Arctic summer brings almost endless daylight, creating exceptional fishing opportunities for wild Arctic char as they migrate from the sea into freshwater rivers. Many fisheries are accessed by boat or helicopter, adding to the expedition feel and allowing anglers to fish waters that have seen very few visitors.
Greenland’s fly fishing is defined by its wildness. Rivers flow directly from glaciers through untouched valleys before entering the sea, providing ideal habitat for sea-run Arctic char. Water clarity is often exceptional, allowing anglers to sight fish to brightly coloured char as they move through pools, runs and shallow gravel bars.
The combination of prolific fish numbers, breathtaking scenery and the opportunity to fish beneath the midnight sun makes Greenland unlike any other destination. Most rivers receive only a handful of anglers each season, offering a genuine wilderness experience where wildlife, glaciers and dramatic mountain scenery become part of every day on the water.
