Alphonse Island Resort, Seychelles

An island jewel in the beautiful Indian Ocean

Alphonse Island is a beautiful jewel in the Indian Ocean and a perfect beach hideaway. Small and intimate, you will be made to feel part of the island family.  It’s a superb spot for anyone looking for a castaway feel with modern day creature comforts.

Island elegance and palm fringed beaches

As a destination, Alphonse Island works equally well for couples, families (with children of all ages), and single travellers.  Guests can choose from the iconic A-frame Beach Bungalows, the larger Beach Suites with their private plunge pools or the fabulously appointed four bedroom Villas, each with its own central pool.

The sea facing Beach Bungalows are air-conditioned with en-suite bathrooms and a private outdoor shower. There is also an indoor bath, double vanity, toilet and bidet. The generous wooden front porch has a comfortable lounging bed as well as more traditional table and chairs.

There are five large Beach Suites which are perfect for couples or for family travellers. The large front porch offers a shady spot for the comfortable loungers and island style tables and chairs. As an added bonus, you can walk straight in from the beach to the private outdoor shower. On two levels, the open plan Beach Suites have a comfortable seating area, writing desk and toilet on the lower level and a few steps up a large, comfortable bed looks straight out toward the palm fringed waters of the Indian Ocean.  The en-suite bathroom has an indoor shower, separate toilet, twin vanities and leads directly out onto the private outdoor shower.  As a perfect finishing touch there is private plunge pool in front of the villa.

Two four bedroom villas complete the accommodation on Alphonse.  With four generously sized, en-suite bedrooms, lounge, dining room, kitchen and private plunge pool, they offer families and groups of friends a perfect opportunity for a very personal and private hideaway.

The hub of the island is the main bar and pool area. Open on all sides to take advantage of the sea breezes, the central bar area leads down onto the beach where you dine most evenings, weather permitting. With the flickering light of the fire pit, solar lanterns emitting their soft glow and the night sky glittering above, it’s a beautiful setting for an open air dining room.

Alphonse Island is surrounded by some truly phenomenal dive sites and with a PADI registered operation on the island, it is an ideal spot for beginners and experienced divers alike. In addition to the diving, you can snorkel or kayak around the island. Getting around is primarily by bicycle, but buggies can be made available for those who need them. There is a tennis court and an informal gym. Spa treatments can also be arranged to help you relax just a little more.

An Idyllic and remote island

Alphonse Island is part of the Amirantes group of islands 292 miles to the south west of the capital Island of Mahé. This idyllic tropical island combines a 5 star resort with some of the best saltwater fishing available on the planet. Accessible via twice weekly flights from Mahé (or private charters to better fit in with your schedule), the flight to Alphonse takes just under an hour and once there, you can relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this tiny island.
