Cuba is one of the Caribbean’s premier saltwater fly fishing destinations, known for its vast, lightly pressured flats systems and exceptionally pristine marine environments. Stretching along the country’s southern coastline, world-class fisheries such as the Jardines de la Reina, Isla de la Juventud, and the Cayo Largo region offer extensive mangrove lagoons, coral flats, and remote island systems. These protected waters are widely regarded as some of the most productive and unspoilt bonefish, permit, and tarpon fisheries in the region.

Cuba stands out for its combination of remote liveaboard fly fishing operations. Many of the most productive areas are accessed by mothership or liveaboard, allowing anglers to reach remote archipelagos with very low fishing pressure and highly consistent conditions. In addition, select coastal areas such as Cayo Santa María offer lodge-based fishing with access to nearby flats, lagoons, and mangrove systems, providing a different but complementary style of fishing within the same destination.
