By late July, the main salmon run is in full swing, with fresh, bright fish pushing through the river on every tide. Water levels are typically ideal, the pools are full of activity, and the fish are aggressive—perfect conditions for light-tackle salmon fishing at its most exhilarating. At the same time, the sea trout begin entering the system in real numbers, offering an exciting additional dimension for anglers who enjoy variety and the chance of something truly special.
