Hallaniyat Island
Monster giant trevally
Around three hours up the coast from Salalah in southern Oman, the Kuria Muria chain of islands sits 30 miles off the coast of Shwaimiyah. With massive GTs cruising the waters, the islands have attracted very occasional adventurous anglers, but have remained largely off the global fishing map. From October 2026 it will be possible to fish for these gear breaking monsters, and plenty more, from a lodge based on Hallaniyat Island.
unspoilt fishery with numbers strictly limited
The lodge puts anglers right in the middle of the prime fishing grounds with both shore and boat based fishing available. Although the sport fishing history is about monster GTs, this hidden gem also offers plenty of other species to target including gunter, Arabian parrot fish, permit, Omani bream, broom tail wrasse, milkfish and numerous trevally species.
Trips will be run and hosted by experienced boat captains/guides and will be on custom designed and built twin engine centre console pangas purpose built for fly fishing. Numbers will be strictly limited and boats can be taken on a single or shared basis.
comfortable accommodation
The new eight bedroom lodge accommodates anglers in en-suite rooms. All meals and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided.
