Hasik
Some of Oman’s best inshore fishing
Hasik is around two hours’ drive east from Salalah and until recently has spent most of its existence isolated, only now accessible since the construction of a road to Salalah. The coastal waters here offer a first-class species fishery with some great shots at Africanus permit.
good variety of species
Along with permit, it’s a great two bar bream fishery with good opportunities to target various of the smaller trevally species, Dhofar parrotfish and broomtail wrasse. The beach walking is productive too, with beaches adjacent to Hasik providing good opportunities to wade and fish from the sand and target both Africanus and Indo Pacific permit with a reasonable success rate. The specially designed boats take two anglers and one crew member and are light enough to be trailered to where the fish are biting and maneuverable enough to be effective in the shallows. Fishing here is arranged in packages of three or six days.
comfortable accommodation
Accommodation is clean and comfortable. There is one en-suite room and shared bathroom facilities for the other rooms. Food is provided by local restaurants. As there are currently no dedicated marina facilities in Hasik, boats are trailered to suitable launch spots – generally a sloping protected sandy beach.
