Gassa Camp in Cameroon has built a reputation over the last seven years as one of Africa’s most diverse freshwater fly fisheries. Trophy Nile perch, three species of tigerfish, and Niger barb are just a few of the species on offer. The mixture of sight fishing, heart racing surface action, and fishing oversized baitfish patterns under the stars, adds to the eclectic fly fishing at Gassa Camp.

A maximum of 20 rods, spread over five prime weeks between Jan and March, and an intimate tented camp on the banks for the Faro River, combine to create an authentic African safari experience.

For the team on the ground Gassa Camp is a real passion project. By putting time and energy into this short season, it’s possible to allocate vital funds to support boots on the ground conservation efforts, 365 days of the year, helping to preserve one of west Africa’s last remaining tracts of intact Sahale Savanah wilderness.
