A new way to experience futa Lodge

Guests at Futa Lodge will find a new way to enjoy Chilean Patagonia during the 2026/2027 season, when anglers, families, couples and non-anglers alike will find plenty of fun.

Set along the Futalaeufú River in the wild Valle de las Escalas, Futa Lodge will still offer world class trout fishing but for the 2026/27 season, the experience goes further, combining days on the water with trekking, hiking, horseback riding, kayaking, scenic float trips, rafting and relaxed lodge time.

Trout fishing remains at the heart

Fishing remains central to the Futa experience. Guests float selected sections of the Futaleufú by raft, with chances to wade, fish dry flies, work terrestrials or use nymphs and steamers depending on the conditions. It’s not a numbers driven fishery. It’s about reading the water right, making the right drift, and fishing in a system that still feels wild and largely untouched.

Rivers and wilderness

The new Rivers and Wilderness programme is designed for those who want more than a traditional fishing trip. Anglers can spend their days out on the water while others can explore one of Patagonia’s most beautiful valleys in their own way. Some days are active and adventurous, others slower shaped by the river and mountains.

For families, couples and non-anglers

Guests can enjoy guided hikes, horseback riding through native forest, kayaking, scenic float trips, canopy adventures, sightseeing, white water rafting, or quiet afternoons relaxing at the lodge. It’s a flexible programme, with everyone coming together at the end of the day.

The Lodge

Futa Lodge hosts up to eight guests and gives the feel of a private Patagonian home, with Chilean wine, open-fire cooking, and farm-to-table food cooking highlights of a stay here.

All in all, it’s a great spot for a holiday that everyone will truly enjoy.
