Pluma Lodge Fishing Report
The weather was excellent for the entire week. We were fortunate that the rain on Thursday night did not affect the river level too much or the colour. Due to the shallow water throughout, it was essential to approach pools carefully and wade quietly.
All the beats produced at least one fish over 20 lbs, and the Lower Sécure gave us two over 20 lbs. Brian caught the week’s largest fish (roughly 23 lbs) from the main Pluma. The week’s adventures were by no means limited to those large fish. Dave and Jonathan were walking home from the Upper Pluma on the last afternoon and sighted one of the jungles great creatures, a jaguar on the opposite bank.
Agua Negra Lodge Fishing Report
Crafting a mix between the hiking and the sight fishing in the Agua Negra and the structure fishing in the Sécure, we landed many fantastic dorado and some nice pacú! By the end of the week, we had landed three big pacú and more than 20 large dorado. This was as well as many medium and small dorado.
Our biggest fish of the week was a 24 lb. dorado in the main Sécure River.
Secure Lodge Fishing Report
Kicking off the second half of the season, the 12th week at Sécure Lodge presented consistent fishing. All of the guests had numerous excellent opportunities for catching some large dorado.
The week began warm, with low, clear water levels and increasing water temperature. Two days later, rain rose the river two inches, causing several feeding frenzy’s. Actively feeding fish were seen as high up as in the lower section of the Agua Negra. Crafting a mix between the hiking and the sight fishing in the Agua Negra and the structure fishing in the Sécure, we landed many fantastic dorado and some nice pacú!
