Pluma Lodge Fishing Report
The weather and conditions could hardly have been better throughout the week. The water was low and clear on all the beats, which made for technical but exciting fishing. This kind of sight fishing is what we love the most and showing to our guests.
The week produced four fish over 20lbs with one on each beat. Lower Secure was most productive for large fish and fish in the mid-sized ten-pound range. The upper sections were very technical due to the low water, but Andy caught his largest fish, a twenty pounder, in skinny water on the main Pluma.
Agua Negra Lodge Fishing Report
Warm weather and low water meant that the fishing was excellent throughout the week. We spent most of the week focusing on the main Secure River, where the fishing was excellent. The group had plenty of chances to catch large dorado, and most landed quite a few. The Agua Negra was equally as productive as the Secure, but the fishing was more technical due to the low and clear water. The last day on the Agua Negra was the best, with six large dorado and one significant pacu landed.
Secure Lodge Fishing Report
This time in Sécure lodge, we received a team of six guests, four guys and a couple from the United States.
Rising air and water temperatures made for excellent fishing conditions throughout the week. The water remained clear and low, which encouraged the dorado to feed actively all week long. The group got many chances to connect with all sizes dorado in a wide range of fishing situations. The crystal clear water allowed for an abundance of sight fishing. For some anglers, this was a new experience and no doubt, the memories of some of the sessions will stay embedded for some time. Although the fishing for pacu started slowly, activity increased with rising temperatures.
The largest dorado of the week was a 25-pound fish caught by Bob Seddon in a deep pool a stone’s throw upstream of the lodge.
