World class fishing in American west
At sunrise, guests come down to the lodge and enjoy their morning coffee in the quiet solitude of the riverside before you have a hearty breakfast of fresh fruit, fresh pastries, eggs to order, waffles, or the daily special.
Angling guests are met by their guide at breakfast and most days you are on your way fishing by 0830. Breakfast is served until 0900, which gives you plenty of time for a later departure if that’s your choice. Complete picnics are packed for you in an ice cooler with plenty of water and soft drinks for that days’ adventure wherever you may go; by boat, boot or hoof.
The watersheds have healthy populations of both brown and rainbow trout, and your expert guides will help you find the epitome of Western trout stream fishing. Your movement around the rivers will be based upon the conditions at the time, allowing for the best chance at hooking that fish of a life time.
“The finest trout fishing I have ever experienced. I especially enjoyed the variety of private water, float trips and wading, pretty much every environment there was for trout. While I fished the family had a fabulous time experiencing ranch life.” C.H. Hampshire, UK
Relax in spacious cabins
After you’ve returned from fishing and had time to relax, you’ll be welcomed to the Cutthroat Lounge in the Lodge which features a well stocked array of beer, wine, soft drinks and mixers. Tempting appetizers are served at “happy hour” and your guide is encouraged to stay and spin fish tales of that one that got away.
Accommodation at Yellowstone Valley Ranch are spacious cabins with two queen beds, a sitting area, full bath, private deck, and an ice chest stocked with refreshments. These cabins are placed a large central lodge building.
Yellowstone Valley Ranch offers a three course meal every night with a choice of two entrees (most often a meat and a fish). The head Chef, Josh Pastrama, starts with the freshest ingredients, with most produce coming from a local organic farm. He then employs his considerable culinary talent and creativity to serve memorable meals. Repeat guests often comment that they have to come all the way to Montana for the finest food they know, but considering the quality of the setting, and the quality of the fishing, they are happy to do so.
There are numerous activities available for those that don’t fish such as horse riding, river rafting, clay pigeon shooting, mountain biking, hiking, safaris through Yellowstone National Park, and finally massage and spa.

The lodge has access to some exclusive private water spring creeks including Armstrong’s, DePuy’s, Milesnick’s and Nelson’s. The spectacular riverside location embodies every reason people come to Montana.
The ranch is situated in Paradise Valley with an incredible view of the western edge of the Absaroka mountain range. From your cabin’s private patio you look over the Yellowstone River in the shadow of Dexter Point.
