Faraway Cayes – where fish outnumber boats
Fly Fish Guanaja’s Faraway Cayes basecamp offers a special fly fishing experience. This remote outpost camp off the Honduras coast is in the middle of one of the most insane flats fisheries in the world. Getting there isn’t simple. Twin otter in, then a 50 mile run across open water with a captain who knows these waters better than anyone. The reward: wild fish, big schools, trophy singles, real shots at permit. A fabulous spot for the adventurous angler.
It’s fished just eight weeks a year and is rested every two. There’s no pressure and no other boats.
Spring 2027 is already filling up but for the first time a couple of autumn dates have been opened up.
