- Weather: Spring conditions, cool mornings, mild days, with alpine snow still visable
- River Conditions: Water flow can run high but is often clear and highly fishable from the start
- Fish Behaviour: Aggressive and opportunistic, fish feed actively and are not as selective as later in the season
Owen River Lodge
Early season here is all about unmarked tributaries and forgiving fish
- Early Season Dates: October 10 to November 30
- Weather: Changing spring weather with fresh mornings and warming afternoons
- River Conditions: Wide range of rivers with smaller streams fishing particularly well
- Fish Behaviour: Fresh, willing trout feeding hard, nymphs dominate with dry fly windows.
