From its prime position tucked inside Abaco’s famous Marls region, Abaco Lodge offers anglers a pristine swathe of unpressured flats to explore. With one of the biggest populations of bonefish in the Bahamas, ten to 15 fish days are quite possible here. Average size is around two to four pounds, with larger fish in the five to eight pound class, although harder to seduce, found in good numbers.

Another highlight here has been the influx of permit to the Marls. The guides report seeing permit almost daily, and they are some of the largest permit found anywhere in the world. Though you are unlikely to have multiple permit shots every day, each fishing session has been bringing anglers the opportunity to land a trophy permit larger than 30lb.
