Time in this modern day world often seems to be against us. We always seem to be hurrying, whether it be in the course of our daily lives, at work or with our families. We never seem to have enough time to just sit down and chat, enjoy what is going on around us and perhaps savour nature a little. For many of us the river bank is just such a place that we can get away from our daily routine and do nothing but take time to be with those we wish. We have found that bringing our friends, family or work colleagues to share in this pleasure is the perfect way of strengthening bonds and simply taking back time. A day on a chalkstream or crystal clear lake in the stunning Hampshire or Wiltshire countryside is an ideal way to entertain a group of friends, family or a corporate group. It is also an ideal way to prepare for a forthcoming trip. Days can be organised for groups from two to twelve on a variety of waters chosen to suit the ability levels of the attendees; small private estate lakes to grand old country estates. These days can be coupled with everything from a simple packed lunch on the riverbank, to a full sit down lunch with excellent wines, the finest cuisine and waiter service followed by coffee and cheese overlooking the river until the first rise spurs you into action.
Typically group days start with bacon rolls and coffee on arrival at 0930 followed by an introductory talk on how the day will be structured along with the important safety instructions tailored to the venue. With guides and instructors introduced fishing takes place until lunch the afternoon session finishes with tea and cakes before departure at approximately 1800. Clients with their own tackle are always welcome to stay later to catch the evening rise.
