A great lodge

“We stayed at Laguna Verde for three days after trekking around Calafate and the Perito Moreno Glacier area. We weren’t sure what to expect, but thoroughly enjoyed the experience and couldn’t believe the size of the trout. They were like footballs! Great lodge – we were very well looked after.”  C. fishing on the world renowned Jurassic Lake

Set some five hours from the town of El Calafate in the province of Santa-Cruz in Argentina, Laguna Verde offers varied fishing opportunities that include fishing on the world renowned Jurassic Lake (Lago Strobel). The lodge is strategically located to access ‘Monster-Bay’ where most of the larger trout are caught and have reached weights of over 30lbs!

Through to the smaller lakes that hold extremely hard fighting, wild rainbows that do reach double figures with the closest lake being just a few meters from the recently renovated and extremely comfortable hard-standing lodge. If this was not enough, Laguna Verde also offers some of the finest river fishing for wild rainbow trout in the world. The river holds an amazing head of fish, where mass catches are commonplace with fish into double figures making an appearance.
