Namsentunet Lodge is located on the banks of the River Namsen and offers a wonderful variety of water for Atlantic salmon fly fishing spread over four large continuous beats. Numerous pools and holding areas provide exciting fishing throughout with the added bonus of fishing from both banks as well as from boats. With so much fishing available the beats are suitable for larger groups with 12-20 anglers fishing most weeks.
The Namsen is one of Norway’s most productive salmon rivers. This is attributed to a combination of factors, including a strong run of grilse in the mid to late summer and the presence of larger salmon in the 15-25lb+ range that provide an exhilarating challenge for anglers. The mix of sizes and strengths of salmon in the river adds to the excitement of fishing here.
At Namsentunet, we hand select dates that we think will give anglers the best fishing experience on this unique and exciting river. These dates typically sit at the end of June, this is when water levels in the river stabilise after the push of snow melt from the winter and waters warm. This makes it a great time to be fishing with the fly. It is also when the bigger June-run salmon are spread throughout the river and before the smaller grilse runs reach their peak, making it a great time to target big salmon.
The dates that we select also include the famous Fiskumfoss beat in the rotation, this is one of the most prolific sections on the whole river. It is a wonderfully varied section with several notable pools and numerous taking spots throughout.

All prices are based on full board accommodation, single room, shared guiding (3:1), and tackle disinfection. The cost excludes car hire, airport transfers, state licence, flights, and alcohol.
