The mayfly may be drawing to a close but there is still plenty of chalkstream fly fishing to be enjoyed this season. To champion the wonderful rivers of Wiltshire we are offering ‘The Wiltshire Double’ special offer. This is a chance to fish two delightful rivers further west than you may have consider before; the River Nadder at Compton Chamberlayne and the River Wylye at Langford.
Compton Chamberlayne, River Nadder
Compton Chamberlayne is situated on the River Nadder, just west of the city of Salisbury. Whilst not a true chalkstream the delightful River Nadder makes up one of the main tributaries of the Hampshire Avon. It offers a wonderful variety of water with consistent fly hatches throughout the season including a prolific mayfly emergence. It is a wonderful venue for chalkstream fly fishing day rods, guided trips and larger group days too.
The Compton Chamberlayne estate on the River Nadder offers seven delightful beats winding through the stunning Wiltshire countryside. Each beat takes two anglers and is appointed with simple fishing shelters. The beats are varied with good features for fishing all through the trout season, from slows for big mayfly hatches to shallow riffles perfect for many of our summertime smaller olives.
Langford, River Wylye
The River Wylye is one of the Avon Valley’s most sought after streams. Home to strong populations of wild trout and grayling, abundant fly life and crystal clear waters make it a fly fishing dream. The fishing is mainly wading with great twists, bend and in-water obstacles to provide fish with a fantastic habitat.
Do not be surprised to encounter some large wily Wylye trout along with excellent autumn and winter grayling fishing. The stretch is available for day tickets and also hosts a small syndicate, all booked days are fished exclusively to one or two rods.
The Wiltshire Double Special Offer
For bookings made in June 2022, for fishing between now and the end of September, anglers can purchase one day of fishing at each venue for the following special offer price:
One Angler: £240 for two days (normally £300)
Two Anglers: £480 for two days (normally £600)
Guiding is available but not included in the above prices. Days do not need to be consecutive.
