La Villa de Estancia Maria Behety Head Guide – Diego Motter

Another week has come to an end here at La Villa. The fishing was difficult this past week we had lots of wind from the east the first 3 days and lots of weather changes, it got very cold at last hour of fishing.

Sinking lines worked the best using T-11, T-14, and T-17, most of the time with nymphs, and sometimes stripping some tubes flies. Dead drifting nymphs and stripping tubes flies also worked at times.

We recommend at list 2 rods, 1 with floating (Scandi) and the other one with sinking lines (Skagit).

We found more fish than previous weeks in the upper beats of the river.

Sunray shadow, emb, tdf prince were the best flies of the week.

79 fish were landed, 12 fish over 15 pounds, 2 fish over 20 pounds, average weight 8 pounds.

Chris was top rod of the week and Doug Salyer landed the largest fish of the week, 21 pounds.

Length and strength of tippet and leaders: 6 to 12 feet. 12 to 15 pounds.
