As if heading off to the Bolivian jungle in pursuit of golden dorado isn’t exciting enough, we’re delighted to introduce the Tsimane Outcamps. Rarely will you get an opportunity like this, to camp deep in the Amazon rainforest – sleeping where the jungle breathes – while enjoying the pristine Tsimane rivers and the extraordinary cast of fish living within.

This experience brings together everything that makes it unforgettable: sleeping by the river, listening to the living jungle, observing wildlife in its purest state, and fishing a unique population of golden dorado with its own distinct morphology, some of the last remaining in a truly wild habitat.

You can live this experience at Sécure and Agua Negra lodges:

Agua Negra Lodge includes one night in an outcamp as part of its classic jungle programme.

Sécure Lodge offers an optional one night camp out for anglers looking for a deeper, more adventurous journey.

It’s an adventurous trip, quite physically demanding and fairly basic on the accommodation front, so not for everyone, but certainly a once-in-a-lifetime experience for anyone up for the challenge.

Charlotte Chilcott and Olly Thompson have both visited in the last couple of years. Their trip reports (follow the link on their names) offer a good insight into the fishing here. The general 2025 season fishing reports are available here.
