As the first right of refusal process comes to an end, we’re delighted to announce that a limited number of rods are now available on the Laxa I Kjos for the 2026 season. This iconic Icelandic river continues to be one of the country’s most popular salmon destinations, combining classic fly water, intimate pools, and a comfortable riverside lodge just a short drive from Reykjavik. Laxa I Kjos really shined this year in a year where salmon fishing was tough with its fabulous sea trout fishing. This added diversity makes Laxa I Kjos a good option for those who either love catching big sea trout on nymphs and dry fly, but also those looking to hedge their bets. Demand remains extremely high each year, and these openings offer a rare opportunity for new anglers to join the programme.

The majority of regular guests have once again opted to return for 2026, reflecting both the quality of the fishing and the friendly, familiar atmosphere that makes Laxa I Kjos so special. These few rods have become available only after the completion of our rebooking process, and they represent the last remaining space on what is traditionally one of the river’s most productive summer periods.

Available dates for 2026:
- 17–20 July – 2 rods £7,920
- 20–23 July – 2 rods £7,920
- 23–26 July – 1 rod £7,920
- 29 July–1 August – 1 rod (another may become available) £7,920
- 2–5 August – 2 rods £7,090
With prime summer dates now open, we expect these spaces to fill quickly. If you are interested in joining us on the Laxa I Kjos in 2026 we encourage you to get in touch as soon as possible to secure you rod.
