Our friends at African Waters have launched a new adventure using their Sette Cama Camp in Gabon. In collaboration with Loveld Trials Company they are introducing the Gabon Wilderness Experience, a journey into one of Africa’s most untouched and biodiverse ecosystems.

Explore Loango National Park

Loango National Park is one of Central West Africa’s last remaining pristine rainforest systems. It’s a place where coastal jungle meets sandy beaches, where wildlife roams freely, and where few travellers have set foot. Venture deep into the park on foot and by kayak, exploring remote estuaries, dense forest, and wide open coastline.

Expect the unexpected: from unhabituated chimpanzees and lowland gorillas, to forest sitatunga, red river hogs, duikers, and numerous monkey species. A favourite for both guides and guests is spotting forest elephant and buffalo on the beach—or watching the famous “surfing hippos” ride the Atlantic waves. It’s a rare glimpse into a world that feels entirely wild.

The Wilderness Trail

The core of the experience is a four-night unsupported Wilderness Trail through Loango. Carrying everything on your back, you’ll trek and paddle through terrain that demands your full attention—both physically and mentally. This is an unfiltered, high-engagement way to explore nature, where every step brings you closer to the rhythms of the jungle.

With a highly trained guide leading the way, you’ll learn to read the signals of your surroundings, tune into the forest, and reconnect with the natural world. This is wilderness immersion—raw, real, and unforgettable.

Sette Cama – your base

Your first two nights—and your final evening—will be spent at Sette Cama Camp. Perfectly positioned on the southern boundary of the park, it offers immediate access to Loango’s wonders and a soft landing before and after your days on trail. Return from the jungle to the comfort of camp, and let the sounds of the forest and ocean ease you into the rhythms of the wild.
