As Iceland becomes increasingly subscribed for this season prime space is becoming hard to come by. Some space has just become available on one of our favourite rivers in early August on the Laxa I Kjos in 9 – 14 August for five days fishing.
The Laxa I Kjos lodge is one of the prettiest and most comfortable in Iceland and sits overlooking the lower section of the river. The river itself is intimate and the fishing is more akin to trout fishing for salmon, a true hitchers’ dream. Small rock pockets, canyons and open meadows are perfect for single handed fishing with tiny flies and it offers some very exciting sight fishing and hitch fishing opportunities for salmon. The river also has some huge sea trout which adds to the excitement. The lodge is just 30 minutes from Reykjavik and caters for 8 anglers in the early and late part of the season, and between 8 & 10 anglers through mid-July and August.
This is the perfect opportunity for an intact party of 6 rods in single rooms to have the river to themselves for five says fishing in prime season.
The cost will be:
478,000 ISK per person based on single room and shared rod (£3,540)
876,000 ISK per person based on single room and shared rod (£6,490)
All prices in Icelandic Krona (ISK) will be converted at the point of booking. The GBP prices above are a guide price at date of publishing. The cost includes scheduled transfers, full board single room accommodation and shared guide.
