As summer moves into autumn at Mayazul Lodge and the cooler weather sets in, Ascension Bay enters one of its most dynamic fishing windows.

From September through November, Mayazul Lodge remains a premier destination for permit while also offering an added bonus: the arrival of snook.

Early autumn may still bring chances at migratory tarpon, and by October and November, strong tides and dropping water temperatures push big snook out of the mangroves and into range.

Mayazul Lodge is an elegant intimate lodge, set right on the beach among swaying palms. It’s a short walk each day to the boats where two guides await each angler. After fishing, visitors will enjoy great food and drink. The opening of a new airport and great service into Tulum makes access easy too.
