Indulge in the exclusive mayfly season fishing experience at Testcombe, an enclave reserved solely for Aardvark McLeod patrons. Nestled along the River Test, this sanctuary boasts a magnificent Grade II listed fishing hut, ensconced on a sprawling island within the stretch. Once a pavilion for the Disraeli family’s tennis court, it now stands as an idyllic retreat for anglers.

The allure of chalkstream fly fishing at Testcombe spans across skill levels, offering a spectrum of opportunities amidst its wide main river and intimate carriers. Explore deep holes, overhangs, and shallow glides as you navigate this beautifully varied waterway.

With the Home beat accommodating two to three rods and the Away beat perfectly suited for two rods, Testcombe caters to every angler’s preference.

The recent expansion of fishing territory now encompasses the true right-hand bank, augmenting Testcombe’s allure. Divided into Testcombe Home and Testcombe Away, this new layout caters to groups of up to six anglers, with the potential for full-scale corporate events.

Traverse the Testcombe Away beat, a contiguous stretch spanning over 750 metres along the main River Test. Accessible from the true right-hand bank via a well-maintained path, this section features wooden walkways facilitating navigation through mature reed beds. A serene wooden fishing shelter nestled amidst a quiet copse offers a serene respite, perfect for indulging in an angler’s picnic.
