Clients who have received one of our Aardvark McLeod water bottles might be interested to know that through Mr Bamboo Cup, the company that makes them, we’re supporting a mangrove tree planting project in Madagascar.
We’re delighted to say that our order has led to the planting of 150 trees at Vilamasta on the northwest coast of the island.
The reforestation provides the villagers with a consistent income that helps them provide for their families. Only native trees are ever planted, and we’re thrilled to be supporting the work carried out by Eden Reforestation Projects who, thus far, have planted over 1 billion trees globally.
When it comes to carbon sequestration, mangroves go for gold: a single mangrove tree can remove over 300 kg of CO₂ over 25 years. Four times more than the rates seen in tropical rainforests.
