Regular traveller with Aardvark McLeod, Jonathan White, has just completed his first book on fly fishing called Nymphing – The New Way, French leader fishing for trout published by Merlin Unwin Books.
French nymphing, or European nymphing as it is often known in the US, is the most important new development in fly fishing for a generation. The use of ultra-long tapered French leaders provides huge advantages both in terms of reducing drag and dramatically improving fly presentation.
These methods, which have already revolutionised the world of competition fly fishing, are now also proving themselves to be a game-changer for the recreational fisherman.
This is the first book of its kind to explain all branches of French leader technique and is a must read for anyone looking to learn or improve the technique.
Jonathan and co-author Oscar Boatfield will be launching the book at the Orvis London store on Thursday 6th October. The event will run between 6.30pm – 8pm with drinks, signed copies and an opportunity to discuss the latest nymphing techniques with Jonathan and Oscar.
For those attending that evening, Orvis will be offering £25 off when you spend over £50 in store on full-price Orvis products.
The Orvis store is located at 11a Regent Street, London, SW1Y 4LR. If you plan to attend please contact Joanne Potter at Merlin Unwin Books.
