The Rio Marié in the Brazilian Amazon is the largest peacock bass fishery in the world and a wonderful choice for exciting jungle fishing. It is also responsible for 15 world records when it comes to large peacock bass; not for nothing is it also know as Rio de Gigantes. The latest achievement is nothing short of remarkable as it was the angler’s first time fishing this extraordinary river.

Guided by experienced team members, Alonso and Graciney, Brent’s record-setting 94cm monster peacock bass was one of his first catches of the week, on September 7, 2023.

Rio Marie record peacock bass

This incredible feat not only tops the previous record by two centimetres but also ends a seven-way tie that has stood for nearly three years. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Brent on this fabulous catch and setting a new IGFA All-Tackle Length World Record for the species. Well done to all involved!
